How do I set up 10 digit dialing?
10 digit dialing is used when calling a number in the US that has an
area code different from yours, but you are not required to dial a 1
before the area code. To set up an area code for 10 digit dialing
use the area code rules in Windows. From within Handy Address Book
select:
File / Options... / Modem / Dialing Properties....
This brings up the dialing rules dialog from Windows. Here you
can define your location's dialing properties. Select your
location, and choose "Edit..." and then press the "Area Code Rules" tab
to define all the area codes to use 10 digit dialing. To set up an
area code for 10 digit dialing, press the "New..." button and enter the
area code. Make sure to un-check the option to dial a 1 if it is
checked.
