Why don't I see all of my addresses?
If you are not seeing some or all of your addresses, please check the
following:
- Turn off the alphabet filter by selecting the "All" button on the
left alphabet bar.
- Turn off the category filter by selecting "View / Categories..."
and choosing "In Any Selected Category". Press "Select
All", so that all categories have a check mark next to them, and then
press OK. (Notice there is another similarly named filter option
called "In All Selected Categories". Do not select this option
now, so that you'll see all your contacts.)
- Turn on the option to display private contacts by checking the
menu item "View / Private".
- Do you have your correct address book file open? The name of
your currently opened address book is shown in the title bar.
You will see something like "Handy Address Book - handy.abk".
This means that you are currently using the address book file "handy.abk".
You can have any number of address book files, so make sure you have
the one open where all your contacts are stored. By default,
Handy re-opens the same address book file you were last using.
If you are not sure which address book file you were using, try
searching your computer for "*.abk", and look at the modification date
and file size of any address books on your computer. To open a
different address book file, use the menu command "File / Open..."
from within Handy Address Book.
To see the total number of addresses in the currently open book, use
"File / Properties...". This will show you the location of your
current address book, and the total number of addresses contained in
this book. If you've turned off all of the alphabet, category, and
private filters as described above, you should see this many addresses.
