The e-mail feature isn't working, can I fix it?Handy's e-mail feature requires you have an e-mail client installed and properly configured. An e-mail client is an email program that runs on your local PC, and you can configure it to send through any email account you want to use. Common e-mail clients are Outlook, Thunderbird, The Bat!, etc. Handy uses "Simple MAPI" to communicate with your default e-mail client to send e-mail. To use this feature your e-mail client must be a 32 bit program and support Simple MAPI. Most popular e-mail programs do support Simple MAPI. Any e-mail client that supports Simple MAPI should work. Use "Default Apps" (Windows Settings / Apps / Default Apps) to select a default Email app. You may also have to enable Simple MAPI support in your e-mail client. Troubleshooting: If you're having trouble getting your email client to work, make sure you have a 32 bit version of your email client installed. Also, you can use "regedit" to verify MAPI is enabled by browsing here: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Microsoft\Windows Messaging Subsystem and verify you have a string value named MAPI set to a value of 1. If necessary, add it using regedit. Return to the FAQ. |
