How do I transfer my address book to a new computer?
There's not
anything special to this, just install the program, and transfer your
book(s):
-
Download and
install Handy on your new computer. (Don't forget to enter your
license under "Help / Enter License Key..." after you install it.)
- Copy over your address book(s) from
your old computer to your new one. A Handy address book is a
file with the *.abk extension. You can see the current address
book in use by selecting "File / Properties...". If
you've never created a new address book, the default address book is "handy.abk",
and is located in your "My Documents" folder. To make
sure Handy isn't using any address books you may be trying to copy, it
is usually a good idea to exit Handy using "File / Exit" before doing
any address book copying.
File Copy Tip: Windows Explorer can hide extensions for
known file types. This can make it confusing to find your address
book file. To turn this option off from within Windows Explorer go
to "Tools / Folder Options / View" and turn off the option "Hide
extensions for known file types".
