How do I enter my Remind-Me license?
When you purchase Remind-Me you will be emailed a license. This
license needs to be copied from the email and then pasted into Remind-Me under "Help /
Register...". When copying, include all lines starting with "---BEGIN LICENSE---" up through
and including the line with "---END LICENSE---". You can copy more
than this, like the whole email, but at a minimum it must include the
section with the license. A sample license will look like:
---BEGIN LICENSE---
...
<some text>
...
---END LICENSE---
How to Copy:
Select all the text of the license by left mouse clicking at the
beginning, and holding down the mouse button while moving the cursor to
the license end. Let go of the mouse and the whole license key
should be highlighted. Press "Ctrl+C" or right mouse click and
select "Copy" from the popup menu. If you have troubles selecting
the text, in many email programs you can right mouse click anywhere in
the email and choose "Select All" to highlight all the text and then you
can copy it.
How to Paste:
After you've copied the license from the email, open up Remind-Me and
select "Help" from the top menu and then "Register...". If the
license was correctly copied to the clipboard you will be notified the
license key was accepted okay. If not, the license key dialog will
be opened, where you can paste the license. To paste, put the
cursor in the license box, and press "Ctrl+V" or right mouse click and
choose "Paste" from the popup menu. Press OK to confirm a valid
license was pasted okay.
Troubleshooting Paste Problems: If you are unable to paste into
the license dialog, try these troubleshooting steps:
- Make sure you've copied the license first. Test pasting into
another application, like Notepad, to confirm you have copied the
license.
- Try re-starting Remind-Me by using "File / Exit" (not the X in the
upper/right corner), and then starting Remind-Me again
- Try restarting your computer
- If you are using a program called Webroot, you may need to
adjust its settings, as it is know to cause problems preventing
pasting into certain applications (see
instructions)
Other Possible Problems:
- Make sure you have installed a version released within 1 year of your
purchase date. If not, you can either
purchase an
upgrade or download an older version.
The release date can be found in the dialog where you enter your
license (Help / Register...). (more
info)
- If you don't have your license, you can have it re-sent to you by
going
here.
- If you bought both a Remind-Me and Sync Add-On license, make sure
you are entering the appropriate license into the right place.
The Remind-Me license goes under "Help / Register..." and the Sync
Add-On license goes under "Help / Register Sync Add-On...".
- If your version of Remind-Me is asking for a password instead of a
license, you have an old version installed. Download the current
version here and then you will be able to
paste your license. If you are having trouble entering an old
password into an old version of Remind-Me, see
these tips.
- If you forward your license key email before copying it, make sure
no extra characters are inserted into the license key section you
copy. For example, some email programs will insert the ">"
character at the beginning of each line in a forwarded email.

none of these tips resolve getting your license successfully entered.
