How do I restore my address book from a backup? To restore a backup, copy and open your book:
You can restore any backup *.abk file you may have. You may have made your own backup, or you can restore from one of the automatic backups made by the program. When choosing which backup to restore it can be helpful to view the size and date modified of the *.abk file. When restoring from an automatic backup, it is best to copy the backup file out of the Backups folder, and into the regular data folder (My Documents \ Handy Address Book) before opening it. This helps keep your used address book separate from your backup copies. File Copy Tip: Windows Explorer can hide extensions for known file types. This can make it confusing to find your address book file. To turn this option off from within Windows Explorer go to "Tools / Folder Options / View" and turn off the option "Hide extensions for known file types". See Also: How do I backup my address book?
